LA Conservation Corps (LACC) Making Progress – LACC continues its work restoring open space and trails in the Palisades. Last week, the team hauled out two 40-yard bins of dry brush, debris, and trash from Las Casas Park. Clearing this material not only reopens trails for families to enjoy but also removes dangerous fuel from our hillsides, reducing wildfire risk in one of the city's highest-risk zones.

Scoop on the Loop – Neighbors gathered for the 27th annual Scoop on the Loop on Grenola Street, enjoying ice cream and reconnecting with friends. Even after the devastating fire, this tradition lives on as a symbol of the Palisades' resilience and tight-knit community spirit.

Zone Zero Advisory Committee Meeting – The Zone Zero Regulatory Advisory Committee met this week in Pasadena to discuss proposed "Zone Zero" regulations on the five feet surrounding structures in the Very High Fire Hazard Severity Zone. Fire safety is a top priority but regulations must take our local ecology and climate resilience into consideration and be reasonable enough that homeowners can afford to comply. The current draft regulations could force the removal of an estimated 2000 acres of vegetation across LA, burden homeowners with steep expenses, and undermine slope stability, wildlife habitats, and the urban canopy. Palisades Beautiful Beautification Project – On Saturday, September 27 at 9 AM, Palisades Beautiful will be planting new yellow-flowering trees along Swarthmore near American Legion Post 283. With CD11 and Urban Forestry support, this project will replace trees lost in the fire and help restore shade, greenery, and beauty to our village center.
Palisades Community Renewal Center (PCRC) – The new PCRC is now open, providing free arts programs, mental health counseling, and wellness workshops for fire-impacted residents. It's a place to heal, rebuild, and find connection — and a resource every Palisadian can be proud of.

Team CD11 is honored to recognize and extend heartfelt congratulations to the Pacific Palisades CVS on the joyous occasion of your reopening.
Your reopening is more than the return of a store—it is a celebration of resilience, renewal, and community spirit. CVS has long been a trusted neighbor, a place where countless families have found care, comfort, and connection. Today, as your doors open once again, our community gathers to celebrate not only your return, but the enduring strength of Pacific Palisades and the beloved businesses that anchor it.
We are deeply grateful for your commitment to serving our community with excellence. May this new chapter be marked by continued growth, lasting success, and meaningful impact.
