Councilwoman Traci Park Drives Coastal Well-being with Two Key Motions
LOS ANGELES, CA - Councilwoman Traci Park drives the enhancement of coastal well-being by championing the approval of two critical motions during today's council session. The first motion allocates $900,000 from the General City Purposes Fund to the Los Angeles Housing Department (LAHD) to enhance outreach efforts by the Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority (LAHSA). This funding supports relocating homeless individuals in Council District 11 to mental health treatment beds, streamlining access to essential services for vulnerable community members.
"As Chair of the Tourism Board, I recognize the importance of preserving Venice Beach and our city's most famous tourist destination and recreation area.” stated Councilwoman Park. “We have an inflow of tens of thousands of people every single day, and it's imperative that we maintain the cleanliness and safety of our historic neighborhoods and beaches, which are integral to the vibrant allure of our LA beachfront."
Concurrently, the second motion directs $848,011 from the Council District 11 Venice Area Surplus Real Property Fund to the Board of Public Works, designated for the Coalition for Responsible Community Development. These funds will fuel the Vibrant Venice Initiative, aiming to revitalize community development efforts within Council District 11.
Councilwoman Park emphasizes the significance of these motions in fortifying ongoing efforts to address pressing issues and enhance the overall quality of life in coastal neighborhoods. "These motions reflect our commitment to proactive solutions," she stated. "By investing in targeted outreach and community development initiatives, we're taking decisive steps towards fostering safer, healthier, and more vibrant coastal communities."
The passage of these motions underscores Councilwoman Park's unwavering dedication to championing the well-being of her constituents and her proactive approach to addressing the evolving needs of coastal regions.
