Let’s Keep the Palisades Safe and Brush Free
The Los Angeles City Fire Department (LAFD) advises Pacific Palisades property owners within 200 feet of structures (both fully built and under construction) to maintain brush clearance for fire safety. Requirements include cutting weeds and grass to 3 inches, removing dead vegetation, and preserving live trees with root systems recommended for hillside stability. Residents who have completed this work may request a property review by emailing LAFD Inspector Warren Sutton at warren.sutton@lacity.org with their address and photographic documentation.

Lifeguard Test at Westwood Pool on September 20
Interested in becoming a Los Angeles City Lifeguard? The next lifeguard test will be held Sunday, September 20, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Westwood Pool (1350 S. Sepulveda Blvd., Los Angeles, CA 90025).
The starting salary is $26 per hour, with free training and testing available at participating L.A. City pools. Applicants must be 17 years old by June 1, 2027 to qualify.

3rd Community Care Day

LA Sanitation and Environment is ready to assist residents with arranging collection or resolving service concerns. Septic & Sewer Connection Options
As Palisades homeowners rebuild, the City is providing resources to help determine whether an existing septic system can be reused or whether connecting to the public sewer is an option. Homeowners can check sewer availability, review connection requirements, and learn about properly decommissioning an existing septic system as part of the rebuild process.
CalTrans Tramanto Bulkhead Update
Caltrans will continue conducting field investigations in your area. Geotechnical drilling will continue through October. As part of the drilling program, Caltrans will drill one geotechnical boring along Pacific Coast Highway (PCH) and 10 geotechnical borings within city streets and on private properties along Castellammare Drive, Revello Drive, Posetano Road, and Tramonto Drive. Crews will complete work at one location at a time. Drilling at each location is expected to take up to five days.
Our CRCD Team Continues with Clean Ups in the Pacific Palisades
Our CRCD team is continuing their work on Sunset Boulevard in Pacific Palisades, between Marquez Place and El Medio. We are grateful for their ongoing efforts to beautify and maintain the area. They will continue cleanups in the coming weeks as we prepare for the El Nino season.
Palisades Huntington Clean Up
Join Council District 11 and for the upcoming Huntington Palisades Community Clean Up on Saturday, September 26, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Two dumpsters will be available at the corner of Pampas Ricas and Ocampo Drive for debris disposal. Volunteers are encouraged to join, pick up equipment and safety items, and help keep the neighborhood clean and safe.
