Attending the Inaugural Pacific Palisades Motor Classic - On Saturday, I joined hundreds of community members gathered at the Village Green for the Pacific Palisades Motor Classic, celebrating incredible cars, great music, and the return of a beloved Palisades tradition. From timeless classics to modern marvels, the event brought together car enthusiasts, families, and neighbors for a day filled with community spirit and excitement. More than just a car show, it was a powerful reminder that the heart of the Palisades remains strong and resilient. Thank you to the PaliBu Chamber, event organizers, volunteers, sponsors, car owners, and everyone who helped make this inaugural event such a tremendous success.
Welcoming Back Sandy Days Kids Camp - I was thrilled to welcome back Sandy Days Kids Camp as they returned to their longtime home at Will Rogers State Beach after temporarily relocating following last year’s fires. For nearly 20 years, Sandy Days has been a cherished part of the Pacific Palisades community, bringing joy, friendship, and unforgettable summer memories to local children. It was wonderful to greet the excited campers and their families on opening day and celebrate this special milestone with founder Sina Monjazeb and the Sandy Days team. Welcome back, Sandy Days!
CD 11 Beautification Team Update - Our Beautification Team continues its efforts throughout Pacific Palisades, working diligently to keep our community clean and welcoming. This week, crews were out in several areas removing trash bins, clearing public rights-of-way, and addressing debris left behind from recovery efforts. Their work plays an important role in maintaining safe and accessible public spaces for residents and visitors alike. The team will continue providing these essential services as recovery and rebuilding efforts move forward.
Bienveneda Emergency Repairs Project - The Bureau of Engineering (BOE) began construction of the Bienveneda Avenue (559) Emergency Repairs Project on May 4, 2026. The project is progressing successfully and remains on schedule. Please be advised that traffic impacts are expected during construction hours, Monday through Friday, from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Every effort will be made to accommodate residents and minimize disruptions throughout the construction period. We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your patience and cooperation as these necessary improvements are completed. Stop by the LTRP Open House - The Mayor’s Office invites the Pacific Palisades community to attend an Open House on the City’s Draft Long-Term Recovery Plan (LTRP) on Monday, June 22 from 6:00–8:00 p.m. at Palisades Lutheran Church. This is an opportunity to learn about long-term recovery and resilience projects, provide feedback on the draft plan, and connect directly with City department staff. Community input will help shape the future of Pacific Palisades as rebuilding efforts continue.

Learn About LADWP’s Water System - On Thursday, June 25 the PPCC Infrastructure Committee is hosting LADWP for an in-depth meeting on the water infrastructure in Pacific Palisades. The PPCC Infrastructure Committee is requesting that community members please submit water infrastructure-related questions for LADWP by June 22. Celebrate Fourth of July in Palisades - The beloved Pacific Palisades Fourth of July Celebration is making its return. Just eighteen months after the devastating wildfire, the community will once again come together for the 77th Annual Pacific Palisades July 4th Parade through the Historic Village, followed by a spectacular evening celebration at Palisades High School. As the nation commemorates the 250th anniversary of its founding, this year's event promises to showcase the resilience, pride, and spirit that define Pacific Palisades. Be Aware of Brush Clearance Notices - The Los Angeles Fire Department has begun conducting brush clearance inspections throughout Pacific Palisades. Unfortunately, many fire-damaged and vacant lots have experienced significant vegetation regrowth and contain brush within 200 feet of existing structures. As a result, LAFD will begin issuing brush clearance notices to property owners who are out of compliance. Properties that showed little regrowth last year now have substantial vegetation, and the pace of rebuilding throughout the Palisades means many lots that were previously isolated are now adjacent to homes under construction. Even smaller residential lots with unmanaged brush can pose a significant fire risk, particularly when neighboring homes are in the wood-framing stage of construction. Property owners are encouraged to inspect their lots and take the necessary steps to remove hazardous vegetation before receiving a notice.

LADBS’s Standard Plan Program for Rebuilding - The Los Angeles Department of Building and Safety (LADBS) offers the Standard Plan Program as a resource to help streamline the permitting and plan check process. The program significantly reduces review times for projects such as single-family homes, ADUs, swimming pools, patio covers, stairways, signs, and more. Standard Plans are designed by private engineers and reviewed by LADBS to ensure compliance with Building, Residential, and Green Codes. Property owners interested in using a Standard Plan must still obtain a building permit and provide site-specific plans showing how the structure will be adapted to their property. Learn more here!
