Help Keep the Palisades Safe During the Rebuild - As rebuilding accelerates in Pacific Palisades, homeowners, contractors, subcontractors, and crews all play a critical role in keeping our community safe. Simple steps like securing tools, locking vehicles, installing cameras, and coordinating with neighbors can help prevent opportunistic theft and illegal dumping. Report every incident—large or small—to LAPD so resources remain allocated to our community during recovery. Let’s rebuild responsibly, protect one another, and make the Palisades a bad place to commit crime.
LADBS’s Standard Plan Program for Rebuilding - The Los Angeles Department of Building and Safety (LADBS) offers the Standard Plan Program as a resource to help streamline the permitting and plan check process. The program significantly reduces review times for projects such as single-family homes, ADUs, swimming pools, patio covers, stairways, signs, and more. Standard Plans are designed by private engineers and reviewed by LADBS to ensure compliance with Building, Residential, and Green Codes. Property owners interested in using a Standard Plan must still obtain a building permit and provide site-specific plans showing how the structure will be adapted to their property. Learn more here!

Prepare for Brush Clearance Season - A message from LAFD: “Brush clearance season is here, and it’s an important part of keeping our community safe—especially in high fire risk areas like the Palisades. Starting May 1, 2026, all properties in the Very High Fire Hazard Severity Zone will be inspected, regardless of whether they were impacted by the recent fire. Some fire-affected properties may qualify for an exemption from the initial $31 inspection fee, but please note that all properties will still be inspected for compliance. If a property does not meet brush clearance requirements, the owner will receive a Notice of Non-Compliance with details on what needs to be fixed and a deadline to complete the work. Properties that are not exempt and fail the first inspection will be charged the $31 fee, and if issues are not corrected by the second inspection, an additional $758 non-compliance fee may be applied. Taking care of brush clearance early not only helps you avoid penalties, but more importantly, it plays a critical role in protecting your home, your neighbors, and our entire community.” View the 2026 Mailer and instructions here!
