Palisades Legislative Update - This week, I introduced a council motion to help Village School access public financing to rebuild their campus in Pacific Palisades. We’re so happy to have been able to play a small part in helping their rebuild and return to the Palisades.

Repairing Streetlights in Pacific Palisades - On Friday, the CD11 Special Task Force was out on Borgos and Chautauqua completing critical infrastructure repairs and fortifying the underground electrical circuit to improve reliability and resiliency in the area. This work is part of our Westside Streetlight Repair Program, which we funded to accelerate infrastructure repairs and recovery efforts across the community. Crews will continue work throughout the Palisades during May and June. Please remember to submit any streetlight repair requests through 311.

Celebrating Young Entrepreneurs - The Palisades Children’s Business Fair was a vibrant and successful event, bringing together young entrepreneurs, families, and community members for a truly engaging experience. Sincere appreciation to the Chabad of Pacific Palisades for hosting and creating such a meaningful opportunity for families to connect, support youth innovation, and celebrate community spirit.

Remembering Larry Vein - The community gathered to honor and celebrate the life of Larry Vein at a heartfelt service in Pacific Palisades. He was remembered as a dedicated and compassionate individual whose presence and contributions left a lasting impact on the community. Through his work with Pali Strong and his tireless efforts during times of crisis, he consistently showed up to support and connect others. His legacy of service, warmth, and unwavering commitment was honored and will continue to inspire all who knew him.

Construction Alert for Bienveneda Avenue - Construction for the Bienveneda Avenue (559) Emergency Repair Project began on May 4, 2026, to address fire-related damage and strengthen existing infrastructure. The project includes replacing the damaged wooden lagging bulkhead with a cast-in-place concrete wall, along with sidewalk and guardrail reconstruction. Work is scheduled Monday through Friday, from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM, and traffic impacts are expected during these hours. The City of Los Angeles Department of Public Works and the project team appreciate the community’s patience and cooperation as these necessary improvements are completed.

Prepare for Brush Clearance Season - A message from LAFD: “Brush clearance season is here, and it’s an important part of keeping our community safe—especially in high fire risk areas like the Palisades. Starting May 1, 2026, all properties in the Very High Fire Hazard Severity Zone will be inspected, regardless of whether they were impacted by the recent fire. Some fire-affected properties may qualify for an exemption from the initial $31 inspection fee, but please note that all properties will still be inspected for compliance. If a property does not meet brush clearance requirements, the owner will receive a Notice of Non-Compliance with details on what needs to be fixed and a deadline to complete the work. Properties that are not exempt and fail the first inspection will be charged the $31 fee, and if issues are not corrected by the second inspection, an additional $758 non-compliance fee may be applied. Taking care of brush clearance early not only helps you avoid penalties, but more importantly, it plays a critical role in protecting your home, your neighbors, and our entire community.” View the 2026 Mailer and instructions here!
