An Update on Santa Monica Channel Work - Emergency repairs are underway in the Santa Monica Canyon Channel following storm damage on February 16 that caused sections of the concrete lining to break apart. Los Angeles County Public Works began removing debris and unstable concrete to ensure safe stormwater flow and reduce flood risk for nearby homes and streets. The emergency debris removal work is expected to be completed this weekend. Heavy equipment along East Channel Road is scheduled to be removed on Monday, March 16.
An Update on SoCal Gas Construction - SoCalGas started their excavation work on La Cruz Drive in front of Palisades Garden Cafe. Please be aware of traffic congestion and heavy machinery in the area.
An Update on CalTrans ‘s PCH Project - Construction will be taking place on Revello Drive, Posetano Road, Stretto Way, and Castellammare Drive beginning on Tuesday, March 17th and likely lasting 1-2 weeks. Each site will take 1-2 days to complete and the road will be closed up to 150 feet on either side of the drilling location. Residents will be able to access homes, but are asked to plan accordingly and limit traffic in affected areas during construction. Caltrans will be drilling holes in 6 locations in order to collect soil samples to address landslides in the area as part of the emergency project taking place after the Palisades fire and the rainy season.

Volunteer to Remove Invasive Plants - Resilient Palisades is organizing volunteer restoration days in the Santa Monica Mountains to remove invasive plants and help restore native habitat after the fires. Invasive plants spread quickly after disturbance, crowd out native species, increase fire risk, and make it harder for ecosystems to recover. Volunteers will help remove invasive plants, support habitat restoration, and learn about the native ecosystems that make our hillsides more resilient. No prior experience is needed. Sign up here!

Thanks for a Great “Safeguard Your Rebuild” Event - We were honored to join community members for Community members gathered at American Legion Palisades Post 283 for the first “How to Safeguard Your Rebuild” workshop hosted by PaliLTRG in partnership with the American Red Cross, the California Community Foundation, and United Policyholders to provide guidance for residents rebuilding after the fires. Panelists shared valuable insights on construction, insurance recovery, and resources to help survivors safely return home. The workshop marked the first in a three-part series aimed at empowering the community with knowledge and support throughout the rebuilding process.
A Great Morning with the PaliBu Chamber - We were happy to join the Malibu Pacific Palisades Chamber of Commerce Connections Breakfast where community members gathered to network and hear updates on Palisades fire recovery.
