Be Aware of Gas Pipeline Construction - SoCalGas will begin a pipeline enhancement project on La Cruz Dr between Swarthmore Ave. and Sunset Blvd starting March 10, 2026, expected to last about 4 weeks (weather permitting). Construction will occur Monday–Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and will include excavation, pipeline work, trucks, and construction noise in the area. Intermittent lane closures and temporary street parking restrictions will be in place on La Cruz Dr during work hours. Natural gas service is expected to continue without interruption, though residents may occasionally notice a natural gas odor during construction. For questions or concerns, call the SoCalGas Project Info Line at 844-765-9385 or 1-800-427-2200 for gas-related concerns.

Review Findings from PPCC’s Post-Fire Survey - The PPCC conducted  the January 2025 Palisades Fire survey to understand how residents feel about rebuilding and recovery. It was carried out by NORC at the University of Chicago and they surveyed 1,265 adults who lived in the area at the time of the fire. Overall, the survey shows that while residents want to rebuild the Palisades, they expect stronger infrastructure, financial support, and safer environmental conditions before feeling fully confident in the community’s recovery. Congratulations & Thank You to BOE’s Patrick Schmidt - Congratulations to Patrick Schmidt on receiving the Rory Shaw Award for Outstanding Public Service at the Los Angeles Board of Public Works on Wednesday. This recognition highlights his leadership and dedication during some of the City’s most challenging times. As part of the Los Angeles Bureau of Engineering team, Patrick played a critical role when the City faced multiple disasters, including the Pacific Palisades fire. He and his team completed several key hillside stabilization projects and constructed bulkheads and retaining walls to protect vulnerable areas and strengthen infrastructure. We are grateful that Patrick will continue overseeing the Tramonto Drive bulkhead construction and thank him for his continued commitment to public service.
