Pali High is Back! - On Tuesday I joined Palisades Charter High School leaders, LAUSD staff, and community members to finally welcome students back to their Pacific Palisades campus. Alongside Pali High Principal Dr. Pamela Magee, LAUSD Board Member Nick Melvoin, and Allison Holdorf, we greeted students as they returned, celebrating an exciting and positive start to the school year.

Joining DCRC for Recovery in Motion - My team was honored to join DCRC for their Recovery in Motion event to honor the one-year anniversary of the January 2025 wildfires. The gathering recognized loss, resilience, and the ongoing healing journey, bringing the community together to reflect, connect, and offer hope.

Palisades Forestry Committee Meeting - We had the pleasure of meeting with the Palisades Forestry Committee and a group of dedicated, talented individuals who came together to discuss how to restore and expand the urban canopy in Pacific Palisades. Stay tuned to learn more and get involved!

Preparing for Pali High's Return - A big THANK YOU to LADOT who was out in Palisades last week repainting stop sign lines near Pali High that had faded over time. We appreciate the department’s quick response to help ensure safety ahead of our students’ return this week.

Updates on LACC's Cleanup Project - Our LACC team continues its cleanup efforts along Sunset Boulevard and is currently addressing public right-of-way debris at Sunset and Northfield. Their scope of work includes removal of burned vegetation, cleaning of sidewalks and parkways, and comprehensive brush cleanup. These efforts will continue throughout January and February to ensure the area is safe, clean, and maintained.

Santa Ynez Reservoir Floating Cover Replacement Updates - “LADWP is moving forward with replacing the 15-year-old floating cover on the Santa Ynez Reservoir, which provides drinking water for the Pacific Palisades. The new cover will reduce the risk of unplanned outages and protect water quality while construction is underway. Water service will continue uninterrupted, with emergency contingencies in place to maintain supply if needed. The project includes upgrades to the cover and mechanical systems, with completion expected in Fall 2026. LADWP is also evaluating long-term solutions to ensure the reservoir’s resilience and compliance with state and federal water regulations.” Read more here and follow along on the dedicated project page.
