New LADWP Palisades Support Center - The new Palisades Inspections and Permitting Support Center is currently under construction and is scheduled to open in early 2026 at 16925 Marquez Avenue, in the heart of Pacific Palisades. The center will serve as a community hub for technical and logistical questions related to rebuilding efforts. To better support the region and expand services, City staff will relocate from the Topanga Unified Utilities Recovery Operations Center (UUROC) to this new facility, while the Sawtelle One-Stop will remain open. Represented at the new facility will be: The Los Angeles Department of Building and Safety, The Los Angeles Department of Water and Power, the Bureau of Engineering, and the Los Angeles Fire Department.
Climate Resilience District - On Tuesday, the City Council considered our motion to study the feasibility of creating a Climate Resilience District to support recovery efforts and rebuild critical infrastructure in Pacific Palisades. Since introducing this motion right after the fire, our office has worked with the Economic & Workforce Development Department to identify funding to pay for the feasibility study. We successfully secured funding from the Southern California Association of Governments to move this study forward without budget impact. Despite our efforts and the obvious infrastructure deficits in the Palisades, the Council declined to move forward with our study and instead referred the matter back to the Budget & Finance Committee.
