Lunch with General Bryan Fenton – Palisades Post 283 had the honor of hosting the U.S. Special Operations Command Commanding Officer, General Bryan Fenton, for a special luncheon meet-and-greet and an inspiring talk on leadership. General Fenton, who oversees all Special Operations Forces — including Army Special Forces, Rangers, Navy SEALs, Air Force Special Warfare, and Marine Raiders — shared his insights from decades of distinguished service in elite units. Following the luncheon, General Fenton toured the Palisades Burn Zone to learn more about the community’s recovery efforts. CD 11 thanks General Fenton for his service and his friendship to the Palisades community!

Visit with After the Fire USA Delegation – The CD11 team joined After the Fire USA, a national nonprofit dedicated to helping communities recover and rebuild after wildfires, for a Community Recovery Check-In focused on supporting Los Angeles through year two of recovery. During the discussion, participants shared updates on the Block Captain Program, explored community mental health challenges as the one-year fire anniversary approaches, and identified ways to strengthen local coordination. The session also highlighted opportunities to align public, private, and nonprofit partnerships to enhance long-term recovery and resilience across LA’s fire-impacted neighborhoods.

Highlands Visioning Charrette – The CD11 team was proud to join the Palisades Recovery Coalition (PRC) for their Sixth Visioning Charrette: Highlands and Multi-Family Visioning Charrette, where community members and organizers continued shaping the Palisades’ rebuilding vision — from wishlist outcomes and design standards to shared community priorities for a stronger, more resilient future. WestEdge Design Fair – Team Palisades will host a free Resource Fair during the WestEdge Design Fair from November 20–22 at the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica. The event will feature fire-resilient products and expert guidance from architects, builders, landscape architects, Habitat LA, LTRG, SBA, United Policyholders, Bevel, and more. The fair is free for all Palisades and Eaton Fire survivors. Complimentary passes are available for fire survivors at this link

Posetano Road Repair – The Posetano Road Emergency Road Repair Project began this week, with some adjustments for the weather. We have been working closely with the Bureau of Engineering to expedite this critical repair and are excited to begin ahead of the previously anticipated December start date. Residents in the immediate area have already received notices about the upcoming construction but if you have any further questions please reach out to our office.

Porto Marina Road Closure – This week City crews closed a small section of Porto Marina Way immediately west of the Lecco Lane intersections out of an abundance of caution after an analysis of the fire-related damage to the retaining wall below that section of the road. The Bureau of Engineering is working to secure grant funding for the repairs and we will provide updates as they become available.

LADWP Water Regulator Station Replacement Project - Due to weather related delays, LADWP will now begin work to upgrade the existing water pressure regulator station at Via De La Paz and Sunset Boulevard in early December. Construction is expected to continue through Spring 2026, weather permitting, with work scheduled Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., and occasional Saturday work to speed completion. Water service will remain uninterrupted except for a brief shutdown during the installation of a bypass connection, for which residents will receive advance notice. For safety and workspace needs, Via De La Paz between Sunset Boulevard and the nearby alleyway will be completely closed to traffic throughout the project. Despite the closures, residents and businesses will retain driveway access, and emergency and delivery services will continue without interruption.
