As we prepare for storm season, taking a few simple steps now can help protect your home, family, and property. The City of Los Angeles encourages residents to clear debris from drains and gutters, use sandbags to divert—not dam—stormwater, secure loose outdoor items, and inspect slopes for signs of erosion before heavy rain arrives. Homeowners in hillside areas should also maintain drainage systems, monitor retaining walls, and have emergency supplies ready before storms begin. LACC Palisades Project
The Los Angeles Conservation Corps joined Council District 11 in the Pacific Palisades along Sunset Boulevard to help prepare the community for fall rains. Their team worked hard clearing brush and overgrown vegetation along sidewalks and parkways, while removing obstructions from catch basins and curbs to keep stormwater flowing safely.
A huge thank you to the LACC crew for their hard work and dedication to keeping CD 11 safe, clean, and prepared! We can’t wait to welcome them back for future projects.

The Malibu + Pacific Palisades Chamber of Commerce invites the community to the Resource & Recovery Expo on Sunday, October 11, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM at the PaliBu Chamber Office. This event will bring together local experts, businesses, and service providers to support the recovery of Pacific Palisades and Malibu. Attendees can explore rebuilding resources, connect with expert panels, discover local products and services, and participate in discussions on financing, architecture, and community restoration. Join us for an opportunity to connect with neighbors, support local businesses, and help strengthen our community as we continue to rebuild and recover together.
Non-Profit Altadena Musicians is Helping Rebuild the Local Music Community
Altadena Musicians is helping rebuild the local music community by providing instruments, equipment, and resources to musicians impacted by the California wildfires. Through its instrument registry and giving app, the organization connects fire-affected musicians with donors who can help them return to making music. In 2025, Altadena Musicians helped more than 1,200 families and distributed over 3,500 instruments. By bringing musicians and supporters together, the organization is rebuilding community, restoring creativity, and keeping the power of music alive.
Palisades Beautiful Community Planting
On October 3, we will host a community planting event from 9am to noon. Volunteers will install more than 300 new California native plants, with tools, supplies, and a catered lunch provided.
