Temescal Canyon Dog Park Celebration –  Last weekend, we held a dedication ceremony for the soon-to-be Temesscal Canyon Dog Park that reflects years of community vision and steady collaboration. From early unanimous neighborhood support to the RAP Board’s funding approval and years of follow-through on the ground, this project moved forward through a series of meaningful milestones. Along the way, a few lighthearted Pali Post cartoons helped capture the journey from early conversations to real momentum. Thank you to Resilient Palisades and all partners who helped make this long-envisioned space a reality.

Filming in CD11 On The Rise – Film and television production in Council District 11 continues to grow, with shoot days up nearly 22% over the same quarter last year. From commercials and television to feature films and student productions, filming supports local jobs, small businesses, restaurants, hotels, and the thousands of working Angelenos who keep this industry moving.

Kehillat Israel Sanctuary Dedication – It was an honor to join the Kehillat Israel community for the dedication of its new sanctuary following the devastating Palisades Fire and to celebrate the extraordinary 40-year legacy of beloved spiritual leaders Marsi and Cantor Chayim Frenkel and their family. For decades, Kehillat Israel has been a place of faith, compassion, learning, and community in the Pacific Palisades. Seeing this congregation come together once again in a renewed sacred space was a powerful reminder of the resilience and spirit of the Palisades community. Thank you to everyone who helped carry this community forward through heartbreak and recovery. The future of KI remains bright because of the people who continue to call it home.

Student Leaders Recognized At Brentwood Community Council Awards –On Wednesday evening, I had the honor of celebrating five exceptional students at the Brentwood Community Council’s Student Citizen Awards. Their leadership, service, and commitment to supporting the community during challenging times are a powerful reminder that the future of Los Angeles is bright.

Westside Food Bank distribution – My team and I continue to work with the Westside Food Bank to fill gaps driving food insecurity through weekly food distributions! Thank you to the Westside Food Bank and all its volunteers for your partnership and dedication to Westside neighbors. People should not have to choose between eating or paying the rent, paying for medicine, or other essential needs.

Future Leaders Shine At YMCA Teen Advisory Council Meeting  – It was great spending time with the YMCA Teen Advisory Council, a remarkable group of young leaders bringing thoughtful ideas and a strong sense of community to the table. Grateful to the YMCA and the Palisades Recovery Coalition for their ongoing work to empower youth and strengthen support for the community.

National Champions: UCLA Bruins Women's Basketball Team  What an incredible moment at City Hall celebrating the national champion UCLA Bruins women's basketball. These remarkable young women didn’t just bring home a championship — they represented Los Angeles, teamwork, discipline, and excellence at the very highest level. Hearing from Coach Cori Close about the commitment it took to balance a grueling championship season while maintaining an average 3.7 GPA at one of the most academically demanding universities in the country made the accomplishment even more impressive. Champions on the court. Leaders in the classroom. And role models for the next generation.
