Palisades Inspection & Permitting Support Center Opening — This week, I joined community members and city department staff at the LADWP Marquez lot to mark the opening of the Palisades Inspection & Permitting Support Center, a new one-stop location designed to help residents navigate the rebuilding process after the fire. The center is open Monday through Friday, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and is already serving Palisades residents as recovery continues.

Baywatch is back – In a unanimous decision, today the California Coastal Commission approved the permits required for the return of Baywatch. I joined the Baywatch production team to personally testify in support of its filming on our iconic Venice Beach. Keeping production in Los Angeles matters — for local jobs, small businesses, and our creative economy.

Black History Month Kickoff — This week, I helped kick off Black History Month by recognizing Antwone Fisher — a New York Times bestselling author whose memoir, Finding Fish, was later made into a film, and a proud CD11 constituent. I also joined in the announcement of the inaugural LA Jazz Festival, coming to Dockweiler Beach August 29-30, 2026– bringing a major, Black-led celebration of jazz, history, and culture right to our shoreline.

St. Sebastian Catholic Church Visit — It was an honor to join last Sunday's Mass at Saint Sebastian Catholic Church—a WLA cornerstone for more than 100 years—where I had the opportunity to share the services our office offers to residents and local businesses. Thank you, Father Germán, for your partnership.

YOU ARE HERE Gallery Exhibit — This week, I attended YOU ARE HERE, a powerful gallery exhibition marking one year since the Palisades fires. Curated by photographer and art director Karen Knecht, a longtime canyon resident who was herself evacuated, the show centers the lived experiences of women displaced by the fire alongside images captured in its immediate aftermath. The result is both intimate and deeply moving-a reminder of loss, resilience, and the long road to recovery.

Park's Pick: La Cocina de Blandina – I am thrilled to welcome a new cornerstone of culture and flavor to our district. Small businesses like La Cocina de Blandina / Blandina's Kitchen are the heartbeat of our community, and their success depends on our local support. I invite you all to visit this family-owned gem and  experience their incredible and rich Oaxacan traditions.📍 11923 Santa Monica Blvd. in West LA.
